BACKSTORY.

Pacific Coast Academy is a private boarding school, located in the Malibu area of Southern California for ages 6-12th grade. Only the best of the best attend this school, either through money or scholarships. The school is best known for their sports teams, activities, and —— prank week.But what happens when a prank goes too far, resulting in a student’s death? Will prank week be forever canceled? Or will no one come forward and play it off as an “accident” to keep themselves from getting into trouble?After the death of popular mean girl, Mackenzie Adams, just a few weeks after she enrolled to pacific coast, she allegedly jumped off a balcony, but the police have other ideas. They believe it could’ve been a murder amongst the student body, everyone’s a suspect in this case. The school has been on permanent watch, and nobody’s safe from the allegations. Evidence keeps turning up every week, everyone has a story but who actually did it is the question? Could it have been more than one person, or did the girl who had everything really kill herself on prank week? Was it just a prank gone wrong? Did it have anything to do with that event at all? Questions that no one can answer.Prank week is where the students always strike the hardest, mostly on the scholarship kids, but who knew that miss queen bee was even on scholarship? Another question. Apparently, she had many secrets and many different encounters with students who had a motive to commit the crime. Prank week has been canceled until further notice, the school has been struggling to maintain their perfect reputation, some parents pulled their kids out of school —— the ones who care, that is. A hero this week is a villain the next, everyone’s guilty. Are you?

marybeth elizabeth ackerman.

Marybeth is a seventeen year old, turning eighteen soon as she is now in her senior year at pacific coast. She’s academically intelligent, and started up a girls soccer team that has never done before. Coming from new york, she’s been very keen on moving away from home since her mom is always working at the hospital due to her surgeon duties; and her dad is transforming what is possible" and is a global leader "in communications technologies, eco manufacturing, and next generation farming solutions." Basically they're innovating products and projects for a better, brighter future. Her parents are very successful, and she’s always had everything accept for her parents actually getting along. But she never complains, she’s the loving daughter with a positive outlook on life. though, a sarcastic tongue, and not one to be underestimated because of her height.She’s been best friends with jameson ever since they were kids, but once he left for the boarding school, she’s been waiting until the day they could reunite, permanently as far as schooling goes. When she’s finally left her lonely home to attend there there, it was the best decision she felt she has made. She tells him everything, and if she didn’t, it most likely just wasn’t as important for her to talk about. Marybeth in the fulton hall dormitory wing; number 101.Marybeth used to be friends with Mackenzie adams, but she didn’t meet her until they both were able to attend pacific coast academy. With Mack being a freshman before her death, they didn’t always spend much time together, but she was the only freshman they let join her dorm due how many girls enrolled after they became a coed school.Not people know this, but Marybeth is actually a combo of her first name being just ‘Mary’ and her middle name being ‘Elizabeth’ —— and that she has a twin brother, but they don’t talk about it. Not because they don’t care for each other, they’re actually very close, but if you don’t know then you just don’t. Some put two and two together when they’re both called somewhere at the same time, or during attendance if sharing the same classes.

ADIEN JACOBS.

you might have noticed him sitting around campus with his nose in a book, enjoying time in his lonesome. he’s all quiet and distancing due to an incident that happened in his school, prior to moving to pacific coast academy— so he has some sort of trust issues. secrets in this school seems to be very much why some people are set apart, either they’re outgoing to hide how they’re feeling, or they’re reserved and probably come off as rude even when they’re trying not to be.he’s in his shell right now, a bit antisocial as he’s not very open with people. really, he’s hoping to find friends who are not like his former ones. some might think he’s brooding, and mysterious, and he is . . but that’s just because people don’t take the time out to actually get to know him. he’s new to the private boarding school, most guys who were already there are different. People aren’t used to that there, but once he gets in touch with his past self who was once fun and mischievous, that smile of his just might be too contagious.

LUNA ALEXANDRA BOULEVERADEZ.

Luna Bouleveradez is eighteen, and has had her eyes set on joining PCA which she made happen. Arriving just two weeks after the death of Mackenzie Adams, catching the eye of many people with her beauty and charisma. Luna is the type of girl who didn’t have to try to fit in, she just always did. Much to people’s assumptions, Luna does not come from money —— she was accepted based on her grades and love for track. She’s thee on a track scholarship, being that she’s not as financially stable as everyone else, her talents is all she really had to fall back on.She didn’t want to leave her mother alone, but this opportunity was one she just couldn’t pass up. Luna loves cosmetology and the theatre, she’s trying to start up a drama club. Luna is rumored to be dating jameson, they’ve been spotted having a few make out sessions at lunch time and in the dorms ( by other students, as staff wouldn’t have allowed it ), He was the first person who welcomed her. Coming off with a sweet disaapointion, do not mistake it for a weakness; this girl has some secrets back home that were overlooked being the great recommendations she has that helped her acceptance into the private boarding school. And she’s doing a very good job making sure no one uncovers them, but if they did, well . . It wouldn’t matter. That’s the thing about Luna, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

madeine ‘maddy’ Haley gomez.

Madeline grew up in a wealthy family who were very loving and filled their home with culture embracing both her american and filipino roots. After years of attending private schools the family decided to send maddy to Pacific Coast Academy where they would enrich her knowledge of not just books but sports along with social skills.Within those new walls, maddy will discover her passion for music and dance. Striving to be the best version of herself, madeline can be witty & humorous, but her friendly side is quickly overshadowed by her ambition and protectiveness to those close to her. Although friendly, can be hesitant to allow people to get close to her building up walls to shelter her emotional heart.Like Marybeth, Madeline started up a sport team that this school has not had. With many girls showing up, they had to add more that fit to their liking, and of course, cheerleading was one. The deal is, if she could get enough girls to sign up by the end of the month, and people to sign the petition for it — cheerleading will be added for the first time ever at the private boarding school. And so far, she’s killing it.

ETHAN ACKERMAN.

Ethan is the older twin sister of Marybeth ackerman, their birthday’s are a day apart being that she was born after midnight. He’s very protective over her, but not too overbearing. Ethan has been at pacific coast academy since their parents’ divorce which was when he was fifteen, having made a name for himself there. He plays basketball, and just made team captian this year, which he’s been hoping for since starting. Ethan loves music, he’s always playing his guitar’s or the piano in one of the lounge rooms and even the new music room the school has. Drowning out the noise is what he’s good at, especially being the family he had to constantly hear argue all the time. He loves both of his parents, but the divorce was hard on both him and his sister. And while he didn’t want to leave Marybeth alone, she pushed him to go because she knew he needed a new environment and would do the same for her.Ethan quickly took this place by storm, not letting anyone see his pain ever since he settled in. He’s gotten in good with the teachers, and he’s one of the nicer jocks who would most likely take care of you instead of letting you kiss him while drunk ( or worse ) —— unless you both were, then well, you can laugh about it later. He’s not the smartest when it comes to academics, but he’s been taking action into private tutor sessions, resulting in him missing a few nights of partying but he knows it’s worth it. Ethan was not present at the party that resulted in Mackenzie’s death, he just heard everyone running in the building and pancaking afterwards.People take him as being clueless most times, but he’s smarter than people give him credit for. They usually see him as a pretty face with talent, but only his real friends know and his sister knows who he is. The thing about Ethan is, he’s observant. He most likely knows more about you than you know about him.

JACKSON DE LA CRUZ.

Jackson comes from a deeply disturbed family, and was sent to pacific coast academy because they simply didn’t want to see his face anymore. He was thirteen when he arrived, and has a big anger problem. He’s pretty smart with academics, but he slacks off a bit and his parents just pay more money to keep him there. Finally, he just realized there is no actual way out until graduation, so he started letting himself have a good time. Prank week has been a tradition since before he even got there, and he wasn’t used to that at home but the jocks were big on it. Going to an all boys school was dangerous, If you didn’t participate, you would be a target. So, he started being the one who targets.Really, he’s not even big in pranks at all — and people would know if they knew a secret he’s been carrying about his childhood at home. The night Mackenzie adams died, he was there and in fact, he was involved in her death. There was a guy on the football team swinging her around, until they called out for him to grab her legs mid make out sessions with someone. He wasn’t in on this joke, it wasn’t planned but in the midst of it all, they thought it would be funny to throw her in and he went with it. He grabbed her legs and swung her back and forth with the guy twice before tossing her into the water, having no idea that she couldn’t swim, but does that not make it wrong?Jackson wasn’t used to this, it never gotten that far or out of hand the way it did that night. With the girls showing up, some guys became just complete jerks or maybe that’s who they’ve always been —— trying to be funny, and showing ‘welcoming’ them to school by showing them how it works there. Some girls came and completely took over which some guys weren’t happy about, and when Mackenzie died, it messed with his head.He was the first one out of there when he seen she was dead after jameson pulled her out of the water, he knew he should’ve jumped in but he ignored that feeling because nobody else did. Now, he’s about to pay the consequences.

Anna Gomez.

even though anna grew up in a loving family and has always been close with her sister, she felt bland in comparison to her. she didn’t have any musical talent, she wasn’t the smartest, and people weren’t always as drawn to her as they were with maddy. she always felt like she had something to prove, something to show for. and though, she really didn’t like the spotlight as much, she had a tendency to make things about herself in some situations; even though her heart is never not in the right place. she had a love for all things art, but keeps it hidden. no one has seen her drawings, her paintings, or anything that she did that had to do with that; she preferred it that way, because she never thought they were any good.when her parents sent her sister off to boarding school, she stayed home to keep attending public school much to her parents disapproval since they would much rather have her home schooled —— but she hated being cooped up in the house all day, and not having many friends. she spent at least three years there, from seventh to 9th before her parents sent her to the boarding school because they wanted to travel. she had no other choice but to go, right when she was finally starting to fit in at the high school and making a name for herself that wasn’t just, ‘maddy’s little sister’. and if that wasn’t the icing on the cake, her parents found all of her art books, and submitted pieces of her work to the school without her permission thinking she would be happy about it —— but it was a complete invasion of privacy in her head. now, she’s there on an art scholarship even though they could’ve just paid her way, but they felt that this would give her more of a reason to succeed.she ended up falling in with the wrong crowd after her first week there, going under the popular girl’s wing; because she “seen” her, and didn’t immediately associate her with maddy. nobody knew who she was, and she liked it better that way; she could do anything, be anyone. she hated being treated like a little kid who didn’t know anything, left behind while everyone else had their fun—— no more of that. but being so stubborn, and prideful, she landed herself in some trouble. of course the one person she felt close to, even though she was a mega bitch to everyone, would die only for anna to be a prime suspect in her death. some believe she pushed her, some believe she’s the reason anna “killed herself”, and others think it may of just been a happy accident. either way, her popularity is rising because of it whether people hate or love her; and it’s mostly love, because nobody liked the dead girl anyway.

declan davisson.

declan grew up in a family where there was no creativity, his parents were strict which only made him do his own thing even more. And if that wasn’t enough, he wanted to be a rapper which his parents definitely did not support. they felt as if he was neglecting his academic responsibilities, and becoming a “problem child” in the making. his parents never took him seriously with his music, not until his dad found a demo track in his bedroom and that was the last straw for him. he wouldn’t even give it a chance, he seen the opportunity to ship him off and his mom was on board if it would put him on the ( right ) path. they didn’t want him becoming one of those “thugs”, but declan just feels like the’ve forgotten where they came from. both of his parents grew up poor, and now they just don’t know how to act.they sent him off to the boarding school in his freshman year of high school, and he thrived there. they paid his way there with no hesitation, and honestly? he couldn’t wait to leave, nothing he did was ever good enough for them. he did everything they asked without a question, but they couldn’t even let him have the one thing he loved to do. they didn’t like any of his friends, and ultimately felt as if they failed as parents —— especially coming from a family of Christianity, and set on values that he just didn’t believe in.declan fell in easily with the popular crowd, though he was always his own person and that’s what set the stage for him. he was cool, and calm, he didn’t get into any drama but would with no problem, hold his ground if necessary. he never put up with Mackenzie’s bullshit, but he was a loyal friend. really, he’s seen sides of her that she hid from everyone else, even though she never shown vulnerability to their fellow peers; he never had a one-track mind, he knew that not everything was always what it seemed and that people craved to be seen. coming from a family of fake smiles for the public eye, and high maintenance, he never wanted to be anything other than himself. so, what makes him guilty? well, everyone has their secrets, even declan.
